Sylvia has a BA in Speech, Telecommunications & Theater from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and trained in improv comedy at top improv schools Second City in Chicago and Upright Citizens Brigade in New York.

An actress and improviser for over 20 years, Sylvia improvises with the On Deck troupe at Florida Studio Theatre. She also performs as a solo artist for public, private and corporate events.

Favorite theatrical roles include: Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD, Mrs. Cheveley in AN IDEAL HUSBAND, Sister Mary Amnesia in NUNSENSE, Ruth in BLITHE SPIRIT, Princess Katherine in HENRY V, and Eliza Doolittle in PYGMALION.
